Height: 2649 ft. Best visited from: Wasdale Head. Walk: An arduous ascent on its Western Shoulder. Still quite a trudge on the other routes.
Hint: Use the Western Shoulder for descents. Take the Brown Tongue route to Lingmell Col for an easy ascent. Follow the Piers Gill route for some excitement. The views from the top are stunning. The view of Great Gable is amazing! Combine the ascent with an ascent of Scafell Pike, if time permits.
Lingmell may be Scafell Pike's little brother, but it is well worth the ascent as the views stretch far into the North, with Blencathra clearly visible. The view of Great Gable is unique from the summit of Lingmell and should not be missed!
Lingmell's Western Shoulder is a direct, but arduous, ascent. The path sloping up from the col is to Scafell Pike.
