Whinlatter is best ascended from the Whinlatter Forest paths, which give easy access to the fell. The Wainwright guide features the best path, which corresponds to the the Green forest paths in the forest. Part way up, you leave the forest path and reach a stile. Cross this and you are on Whinlatter's southern slope. Go to the top and then turn left for an easy ridge walk to the Eastern Summit. Whinlatter also has a Western Summit and the OS maps and the Wainwright guides don't agree as to which is the highest!
It's probably best to visit both to properly bag this fell! To go to Lord's Seat from Whinlatter, go North East from the Eastern Summit and descend into the valley. Keep to the path as it heads back to the Whinlatter Forest.
