The Central Fells
As the name suggests, these are the fells that are more or less central in Lakeland. This area encompasses many of my favourite sites for photography. The Langdale Pikes are almost an iconic sight, especially when viewed from Blea Tarn.
Another favourite place for me is Eagle crag, just south of Stonethwaite. It's an area of real beauty and the climb can be made easy (by ascending from using the southern slopes) or tricky (by going up the North face).
I've listed below all of the fells that Wainwright classified as belonging to the Central Fells, together with notes detailing visits I have made to them. Some fells have pages of their own - click on any of the fell names that have links to visit these...
This page is a work in progress. As fells are visited, climbed and photographed, they will be added.
